On the 4th Sunday of the month at 6:30pm. A modern contemplative approach to Evening Prayer. Including readings, stillness, lighting of candles, music, poems, silence, chants and meditations.
The idea behind both ‘Breathing Space’ and the Meditation Group is that we learn to cultivate stillness and recollection as part of our spiritual lives. We learn to be still, listen and wait on God’s word. People often complain that God doesn’t speak. Perhaps it is more the case that we don’t listen! If we were quieter and spent more time being still, we would be more receptive to God. It is, of course, difficult to find quiet and peace in our rushed and noisy society. But Breathing Space, on the fourth Sunday of the month, and the Meditation Group, on the second Tuesday, help us find quiet.
Breathing Space for 2020 is on the following Sundays from 6.30pm to 7.30pm:
- 26th January
- 23rd February
- 22nd March
- 26th April
- 24th May
- 28th June
- Then.. usually the 4th Sunday!
