June 1st 2014 saw the creation of the United Benefice of Matlock, Dethick, Lea and Holloway. This meant that what had been two parishes became One Benefice: Matlock served by the church of Saint Giles; and Dethick, Lea and Holloway, with its two churches, St John the Baptist, Dethick (DE4 5GG) and Christ Church, Holloway (DE4 5JP).The two parishes have separate parochial church councils and finances, together with their different traditions, but are committed to working together in worship, mission and ministry.
